TRAINING CONCEPTS

• Active Rest (AR)

  We reviewed (8) exercises each on Day 1 & Day 2 this week for a total of (16) exercises.

  We then used those exercises in our Exercise Trios/Exercise Bundles for the week & also used those exercises as our AR for the tag games that we played.

  Our goal this week? Move as much as possible (even we when are tagged out)!

• Exercise Bundle (xB)

  Wew had (2) Exercise Trios on Day 1 & Day 2 this week.

  So we did an Exercise Bundle (7 min) on Day 3 because I wanted my class to feel like they worked out when they were done.

• Treadmill (Tr)

  We talked about the concept of how a "treadmill" keeps moving & provides a tool for "continuous" movement. We then talked about the importance of being able to continue moving w/ "quality" movement even when we start getting tired.

  We talked about marathoners. What happens when a marathoner starts getting fatigued around the 20 mile mark but still has 6 miles left to run?

  Does his/her stride start getting smaller? Does he or she maybe start walking or walking more? Does he or she maybe stop all together?"

  Treadmills are a tool that teaches us how to keep moving (quality movement) even as we start to get tired. That's an important skill to have. It teaches "perseverence".

• Reset

  We then used those exercises in our Exercise Trios/Exercise Bundles for the week & also used those exercises as our AR for the tag games that we played.
